Why go to a Chiropractor?
Many people who seek out Chiropractic care do so because of a particular symptom or ailment; however, most patients choose to stay on with care in order to optimize their full health potential. Below are the most common reasons that we see patients in our office.
1. To get rid of aches, stiffness and pain

Most of us have aches and pains on a regular basis, but do nothing about fixing them. What we fail to realize is that having pain is not a normal part of life! Pain is your body's way of letting you know that something is wrong. Listen to your body. Slow down and allow it to heal. Chiropractors are specialists in this area. We can help you get rid of your aches and pains, and then help you to optimize your health. This will allow the innate intelligence
within your body to function to its fullest potential.

2. To treat and prevent repetitive strain injuries
Repetitive Stress/Strain Injuries are a major contributing factor to disability and chronic pain in the workforce today. They are often overlooked as significant injuries because of the way in which they occur. In order to get an injury of this type, the body must be subjected to a repetitive motion many times in a relatively short time span. Repetitive stress/strain injuries can occur almost anywhere in the body, depending on the task that you are doing.
In addition, repetitive stress/strain injuries can cause pain at other sites within the body. For example, headaches can result from neck injuries or low back pain can result from knee problems. The old adage "the ankle bone is connected to the shin bone, the shin bone is connected to the thigh bone…." has never been more true.
Get examined by a chiropractor and see if the start of a repetitive stress/strain injury can be halted, and the pain associated with it prevented. Remember, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Chiropractors are experts in the structure and function of the human body. A chiropractor can determine the cause of your pain and make suggestions on how it can be managed or alleviated.
3. To prevent or manage osteoarthritis
Osteorthritis is caused by imbalances in the joints of our back (and elsewhere in the body) that when left uncorrected leads to faster wearing out of the spine. We develop imbalances from the activities of everyday life such as: working with our head bent down, using one hand more than the other, poor posture, sitting or standing for long periods, crossing your legs, etc. Having a spinal imbalance doesn't necessarily mean you will experience pain. A pain-free misalignment is just like having high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol. What you are looking at is a sign that your body isn't 100% healthy.

The best way to take care of your spine is to monitor your posture, take frequent stretch breaks, exercise and have regular spine tune-ups from a chiropractor.
4. To be proactive and prevent problems before they start
Chiropractic is proactive rather than reactive healthcare. You don't have to be in pain, or have symptoms to benefit from chiropractic care. In fact, preventative care is how chiropractors can have the greatest influence on people's lives. Why wait for a problem to become serious? Take charge of your body and be preventative! Just like your car needs regular tune-ups and oil changes, so too does your body.
5. To improve athletic performance
Many professional athletes get chiropractic care, not for pain relief, but to improve athletic performance. From professional golfers to professional wrestlers - chiropractic is often the treatment of choice. Athletes such as Dan O'Brien (world record holder in the decathlon), Tiger Woods (world #1 ranked golfer), Emmitt Smith (Dallas Cowboys Running Back) and Donovan Bailey (former world record holder in 100 metre dash) are all under chiropractic care. Chiropractic helps these athletes gain a competitive advantage. It only stands to reason that if your body is functioning better, you should be able to perform at a higher level.

6. To optimize health and body function
 |
|
With maximal restoration of spinal
function, many patients come in for regular Wellness Care
visits to optimize their health and keep their body's
functioning at higher levels. This type of care helps to
prevent little problems from becoming big problems. Patients
who elect for Wellness Care find that they are healthier,
have more energy, and actually spend less money on care
because they don't suffer as many serious spinal problems.
